Bobby Rahal, part owner of BMW’s factory racing team in the former American Le Mans Series, now known as USCR, United SportsCar Racing. If you’re like me, when you hear Rahal’s name you think of amazing racing of yesteryear. The kind of racing that took lives on a regular basis, and guys like Bobby Rahal had manhood the size of Jupiter, and he’s a winner, too.
Rahal has raced in the open wheel styles of Formula One, Formula Two and Three, as well as Formula Atlantic. He’s won the Indianapolis 500 (1986), and the CART championship 3 times. And lest we forget, he’s gone wheel-to-wheel with the best in the all-too-awesome Can-Am Series.
So basically, and I don’t think it has to be said, Bobby Rahal is an absolute boss. Together with David Letterman and Mike Lanigan, Rahal owns RLL Racing, who are two-time GT class champions with the BMW M3, and one of the most celebrated teams on the grid in sports car racing today.
