Ford has taken the official wraps off their 2011 Mustang Shelby GT500 and made some videos for us fans to watch and listen to. God, that 550hp sounds mean with the new exhaust, too.
You can tell that these particular Shelbys hold the upgrades of the SVT Performance Package because of the thinner racing stripes running along the top of the car. And I must say, I really like the look of the clear roof panel. I’ve seen it many times in person, and I’ve always said I’d never have one, simply because of weight gains. But, upon learning from Ford that they actually beef up the rigidity of it to be a little more solid than a standard coupe, along with only weighing 40 more pounds makes me think otherwise. Although I still would prefer a standard coupe for track use.
