As we know, the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V has held the Nürburgring lap record for quite some time now. Porsche has finally answered back with an unofficial lap time of its own.

The brand new Porsche Panamera has been the subject of much controversy for Porsche. One thing that hasn’t been controversial about the new Panamera is the speed. The new Panamera Turbo puts out 500hp and 516lb-ft of torque, gets to 60 in 4-seconds flat (3.8s with Sport Chrono Package), and at top end it’ll do 188 mph. At 4343lbs, it’s also heavier than the Cadillac CTS-V. It only comes in PDK form, which is sad. If it came in a traditional manual, it would be even more amazing. That’s beside the point, though.

The point is, now the Porsche Panamera Turbo is the king of The ‘Ring for sedans. It just posted a 7:56. The CTS-V did it in 7:59.

That’s very impressive. But, which one would you rather have? It’s a hard decision. The Porsche does cost $132,600 compared to the CTS-V’s $70,000… Let’s wait and see how fast the new M5 will be with its twin-turbo V10.

There will certainly be more developing on this story, so stay tuned as things go down.
